Web Design
How important is a website for an actor?
Welcome to the 21st century of acting, it's online casting, digital photos, and websites for actors. In the golden days of hollywood it was all about being on contract with a major motion picture company. Then came the days of acting agents and the starving artist waiting for the trade papers to come out so they can go in for the next audition. The days of mailing headshots are way past over. If you haven't thought of having your own website then you probably don't know the benefits of having a site that allows casting agents, casting directors, and producers to access all your talents at once. It's the "new" headshot. It's the new "business card" and it can portray your talent and picture all in one! Some great sites that are now offering online websites are:
http://www.nowcasting.com,
http://www.lacasting.com, and
http://www.actorsaccess.com. There are numerous other sites that offer you your "own page" but wouldn't it be great to have your own website? Some of the below companies or services will allow you to build your own or even contact someone who will do it for you!
Weebly is a San Francisco, California based company that was founded in 2006 with the mission to help people put their information online quickly and easily. We now enable 2 million people to easily create personal sites and blogs or establish web presences for businesses, weddings, classrooms, churches, artistic portfolios, and more.
In early 2007, the Weebly founding team joined a seed funding program called Y Combinator and began working full-time to make the Weebly service spectacular. We were proud to be named one of TIME’s 50 Best Websites of 2007, and have continued to improve Weebly’s feature set and ease of use.
